Anyone tried moving the HVAC controls in their NB?

Postby sabretooth » Fri Nov 09, 2007 11:54 pm

As per the topic, has anyone tried moving the controls for their heater, ventilation and air conditioning to another spot in the dashboard? It seems to fit multiple places, but I'm wondering if you moved it and whether or not moving it affected cable operation.

I don't know that the cabling would stretch. The cable which controls the hot/cold setting of the NB8A doesn't have much spare length in it. You could always try and extend it, but then you run the risk of the cable snapping after a lot of use at the join point. I think that and the control for where the air is to be directed would be the ones that will cause most grief.

The unit itself could easily be moved. It's just a matter of these cables.
