Does anyone here had aftermarket cams on their NB8B VVT?

Apparently this Maruha Unit, doesnt require ECU tuning...

the maruha website in japan, translated poorly into english seems to indicate that it is NOT for VVT?

Hei Hamish,

They do actually have cams for VVT from Tomei/ Maruha
I was thinking of getting them about 1.5 months ago from Chikara Motorsport.

They have one second hand set of 2001 NB for around $900.00 delivered.
Email him if you are interested and let him know that 'Andy from Melbourne' told you. Here's his email: chikara_motor@hotmail.com

With The Maruha VVT cam you will need to replace the lifter kit because the cam base is 33mm, and stock is 36mm. If you want the cheaper way to install the Maruha cam, you can just add the undershim between the valve head and your stock lifter bottom. Just make sure the valve clearance is IN 0.2mm and EX 0.25mm.

They also have another second hand set of Maruha ITB system with Freedom ECU.

This one off another 2001 NB and already tuned by Chikara Motorsport. I was quoted by him for $3.2 K inc shipping to Melbourne. I reckon its a pretty good deal for Maruha Kit but with one problem. Freedom ECU is in Japanese, I don't know anyone in Melb that can tune it.
