I bought some brake pad guide plates from www.miatamania.com (Moss Motors)
Took 3 weeks to arrive,a nd they charged me USD$90 shipping for $20 in parts! (They later sent me a credit note for $60 so the shipping was obviously a mistake)
They only have 1 set of parts listed for the rear brakes, and the don't look like the correct ones at this stage, but I haven't had a chance to install them yet.
I had a go at installing the front clips tonight, and it took me an hour for 1 side! They are a TIGHT fit!!
I think the profile of the front clips is slightly different compared to the australian delivered MX5, as a small amount of bending was required. I ordered the hard suspension model clips as I believe that is the closest match to the AU model.
They do stop any form of pad rattle though! The pads are totally silent now, a blessed relief from the old clips!
If anyone is considering ordering the clips, perhaps the normal suspension ones may be a better fit...
