Yeap, thats what I've found with my car 1red5. In normal stop start traffic they have plenty of bite. After 1 good hard application they dont feel like they want to stop any more and pedal force increases dramatically. They start to feel like the RB74's actually and start making bad metal on metal grinding noises. When they cool down they work OK again.
But with my car being so \"special\" they will probably work fine for everyone else.

Garry - thats odd about the squeeling advances - I assume you fully bedded them in to re-apply the transfer layer if on old rotors? I stuck them on with new rotors on the NB8B and it now stops brilliantly on the street - very happy with the bang per back. No noise at all!

Yeap CT, bedded them in as per the Bendix instructions. I was happy with the Advance's perfomance on the NA and the NA ones were quiet which is why I got them for the NB. The Bendix guy knew all about the squealing problem. I called their info line hoping they would tell me I bedded them in wrong or somthing and then help me fix it but he just basically said \"oh yeah, some do that, we recomend Metal Kings for your car, I'll send you out a set if you like\". Apparently some squeal and some dont. Sounded like a good offer so I took him up on it. This was about 18 months ago so they have possibly changed the compound since then.

What a confusing and scary feeling THAT must have been. I would have made a bee-line to my mechanic pronto if that happened to me!
CT: you mentioned Advances' are $80 a set, do you mean a set of 4 or full set of 8?
And are Ultimates more expensive?
