What was that MEAT on the fire thing ?? I didnt see a deep fryer at all.

REAL Sauce... comes in glass. It melts plastic.

I see that the Dodgy protocol of one bloke working while everyone else stands and points is pretty much par for the course everywhere.

Hmmm rather plain fare really. A noticeable lack of sunlight too in that cave

Jules

It might have looked plain, however it was cooked superbly and the service was to die for.
Thanks Liam and Mel for putting on a great spread, and glad that all the work ended up going well.
I have a few photos I will post when I get a chance tonight.
Rgds,

I had MX5 Mania replace the front bushes today, and I'm glad I did! The knowledge of what to do, and the tools to do it were outside my range!

Car feels more solid and controlled now, the steering wheel is at a 20 degree angle when driving straight ahead, but that was yto be expected and will be corrected at the alignment at heasman's tomorrow.

In all, I spend ~1200 on parts & tools, and $320 on labour, but considering the wheel bearings alone were $700 each from Mazda I saved a hell of a lot of money too!

If anyone is considering the bush replacement, I say go for it!

Now if if those brake pad guide plates would bloody arrive from the US I'll have nearly finished :) (now that the suspension isn't rattling anymore, the other rattles, brake pads included, are very noticable!)

Good work Liam and Bevan, I had my doubts... Nice to meet you all and will no doubt see you again at either another dodgy day or at the track.

Doug Heasman just called me to suggest a slight change to my requested alignment settings (he suggested 0.5 degree more rear camber to make the car more stable and avoid excessive oversteer with the new suspension bushes)

Now that's service! He knows alignment, and he knows MX5's :) I'm happy to defer to an expert!

Nice work everyone :)
What a great day it was.. :)

Thanks to Caff for supplying lunch and BigDog for cooking :)

i had a great time.. but im still trying to get the dirt/greese off my hands..
But i'll be there for the next dodgy day to lend a hand :)

Its days like that that make me wish i still had my MX5 :(

and this is a perfect example of \"you just have to give it a go\" and if all else fails.. book it in quickly with MX5 Mania :)

So who's car do i get to pull apart next time???? hahaha

Bigdog, i love the vid's.. but the high speed parts of undoing nuts just looks wrong...

Rodd, you need to download a Flash player from Adobe (free) for your browser...

I made the clips fast to keep file size down - Photobucket limits the size and length you can upload - plus it makes some people look plain silly 8) :P

One of the guys from work was quoted $2100 to replace one single suspension bush in his commodore!

I think doing all 22 or however many there are on my car for $920 is good value then!

Yep... you would have been able to polish my exhaust system if you'd stayed longer :P The roll bar looks great by the way- what polish did you use out of interest?
