I'm afraid to say that it sounds to me like it might have done more than 75,000km  . Your problems are more typical of high mileage or poor maintenance or both and are not what should be expected in a reasonably well cared for MX-5.

Sounds like your car has had a hit and not all the bits replaced properly (loose missing nuts, etc).

Do you know any panelbeater friends? Ask them to have a squizz to confirm.

These things are pretty much indestructable. Replace the bolts, fans etc and just keep driving. It may have had a hit in the front end at some stage.

Don;t worry about it idling in the heat, as long as it didn't overheat, you'll have no issues. :)

They all sound like easy things to fix, so gather the parts and put her all back together. If you need any help, just ask on here. I hear MX5Plus up your way is quite good and have heaps of spare parts for MX5s. Give them a buzz and sort out what you need.

D'oh!

In that case, go to MX5Mania in Hornsby Heights, they'll have all the bits you need. Click the link at the top of the page. :)

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Isn't it always the case. If only we can have a couple of days to look over the cars we want to buy. I also discovered a couple of things with the NC I've recently bought, like rear quarter panel having been repainted before or the screws missing from above the rear lights in the boot.

I have stopped looking just in case I find anymore things! Anyway, my consolation is that the damage must have been \"slight\", otherwise repair from totally new panels or parts due to a major prang may be impossible to pick :P

Hope everything will be OK for you. Let me know what you think of the AGXs when they are on the car.

I'm sure it was the heavy weight NB upgrade rims which stuffed the shocks, which loosened the bolts...................well, you get my drift.

Nah, it's just an MX5. You fixed those rattles, there'll be a whole heap more from other things in a few months.

I agree with Garry. It is unlikely the wheels have stuffed up the shocks. Daily driving in the city, you wouldn't be able to tell the weight of the wheels.

I hope the new shocks will give you a bit more comfort. So what wheels have to picked as replacement then?

i gave up on trying to stop them ages ago.... to quote egg8ox turn the radio up a bit more :)

most my rattles now seem to come from the softtop when its folded down and the hardtop latches not \"biting\" hard enough
