Hey guys,
I've just finished wiring in my new stereo... however I have one wire left over from the old tape/radio deck! It's red and marked as 'NC' on the wiring diagram (see below).
Does anyone know what it actually is!? The only other NC that was wired up was (d) (green) which I found was the wire to the auto aerial motor.

Oh damn! Better leave it unconnected then.
The only other wire I can think of is a dimmer wire for when you adjust the brightness of the instrument lights, but that might be TNS.
Yup, TNS is the one. I connected it though and it doesn't work... doesn't worry me too much as I don't see the point of dimming interior lights any darker than the brightest setting (which is dark in MX-5 anyway).

The head unit itself has to support the functionality as well, so that may be why it doesn't work.
Oh well. If it's all working, no harm done in leaving it disconnected.

Yeah true. Well, whatever. If it's marked as NC for the unit, and everything's working, problem solved.
