Floor mats
Hey guys,
My local Mazda dealership can't help me with this, but maybe there is an aftermarket source someone here knows about for FLOOR MATS for my NA MX-5.
Just want black ones, with some kind of heel bit of course. I tried the NC floor mats but they were way off
Preferably local so I don't have to pay shipping for these things.

If you want the very best floor mats, buy a couple of good sized sheep skins from your local markets and cut them to shape.
Not only do they look good, but ladies can't help taking off their shoes and tickling their toes with them.
While you would think they would get dirty and be hard to keep clean, the opposite is actually true.
Because of the natural grease in them, they seem to repel dirt and mud and just need a good shakeout every now and again.
I've got a set in my Mercedes, in off-white, and even after 5 years of use, they still look and feel really good.
Just one thing though, black sheepskin will go a dark shade of green after a lot of exposure to the sun.

I've got these ones: http://www.mx5mania.com.au/product1273.htm
I didn't get a chance to get a photo on the website while I was working at Mania, but they're good. Aftermarket but a perfect fit.

I still have to get mine from him sometime - he put a set aside for me but we're never at the same events!

you both only go on a club run twice a year, so i'm not surprised
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

OK, not local but I bought genuine Mazda mats from MX5Parts.co.uk.
Perfect fit, drivers side clips in place to stop it sliding around, and has rubber heel pad.

I have had the ones for the NB in my NA for a couple of years now.
Fit very well but the retention hole & plastic surround gave up after about 6 months.
Early this year the foam backing gave up and the drivers mat is now so floppy it catches under the clutch pedal.
Not terribly happy for what they cost. Particularly since the Nissan ones in the wife's car are 12 months older and still going strong. I am currently looking at what kind of backing I can somehow glue to the mat to make it semi rigid again.

Interesting, as it was Mulgrave Mazda that did not have them for NA8. Only NC. I tried but they are the wrong shape.
They gave me a number of a "custom car mats" guy who apparently was the manufacturer of their floor mats when they did have them.. but I thought to check if there was any other source you guys knew about first!
