You can enter in the show and shine or one of the many different concours categories.

I won the modified SP category a few years ago. And it only took 35 hours worth of cleaning and polishing to do it too! Mainly because I didn't read the guidlines and spent a lot of time cleaning stuff that wasn't even judged. I did have a very clean car till the next time it rained though. 8)

You should enter your car Ajay and let the public enjoy it.

Wikipedia definition: A Concours d'Elegance (from French meaning a competition of elegance) is a competition between automobile owners to be judged on the appearance of their automobiles.

What are you waiting for? Join the club and be in it - you may get a pleasant surprise, meet a lot of nice people and go to an interesting place.

I used to be a member for a few yrs (I'm still using the keyring that was given out to new members!), but then I didn't have time to come to any events (last one was the run to Camp Quality in 2002 I think!) so I let the membership lapse.

....but this seems as good a reason as any to renew :)

Yes you need to be a member. Active members end up recouping all their membership costs through the year in subsidies to various Club events. :D

For the uninitiated, the difference between Concours d’ Elegance and Show & Shine competitions is in Concours, areas under the bonnet and boot are checked. In Show & Shine this isn’t looked at.

All information on the marking and what is looked at is up on the Club site.

There are many classes that range from standard to full customisation.
It doesn’t matter if your car has done 5,000 kilometres or 500,000 kilometres; Is an ’89 or a ’07; the marking system makes allowances for a daily drive or garage queen. 8)

This year sees the introduction of a modified marking system to take into account the introduction of the NC Roadster Coupe, amongst other changes.

The best thing about these days, apart from this location, is that you get to see a lot of MX-5s of varies models, presented at their best.

From next year, Club Members must have attended 3 sanctioned Club events to enter Concours. If they haven’t then they can only enter the Show & Shine competition. Sanction events can be Club runs, Natmeet, Track days, etc., run by the Club.

Get those entries in.

I'm glad you have classes for Modified and Customized.

It's always best to encourage everyone rather than going around telling them what's wrong with their car.

Sounds like a great day, the W.A. club is probably getting big enough to consider holding one of these too.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
