It was just yesterday that I read the post from Paopee about his little incident and thought to myself \"jail time may be worth risking if I caught the idiot responsible\" if I was in Paopee's position.

Karma is a bitch...

I park my car in a Chinatown parking station... in the same spot every day... EVERY DAY I park the drivers side as close as possible to the wall so that there is PLENTY of room for another car to get into the passenger side parking spot. Sometimes I park so close it gets to the point where it feels like I'm doing Yoga just getting out of my car.

As careful as I was to prevent idiots from hitting my car when parking... it still happened.

I didn't notice it when I put the roof down to drive home (awesome night for it by the way), things weren't right when I pulled into a driveway to another parking lot in Ryde to get some grub.

Screeching noise from the front passenger fender as I rolled up the driveway was not a good sign. Upon closer inspection, the front fender has been popped in and there is white paint residue where the fender meets the front nose. There are some slight scratches that I may be able to touch up... but there is one MASSIVE dent on the Fender that has caused a number of smaller stress related dents.

The dents themselves don't have a sharp fold to them and I'm not sure if a paintless dent removalist will be able to restore it back to its former glory.

What results have fellow forumites seen with the paintless dent removal services? Should I even bother doing it the el-cheapo way or should I look at getting it fixed properly with the good folks at Hume (who should be enjoying the great business this forum is giving them!)

bloody unbelieveable totally gay i feel for u, if u wanna cry dude im there for u

maybe we should just meet up run our cars into each other and get aftermarket body kits lol

I know the feeling. I was gonna do some form of suspension/handling upgrade next (FM butterfly brace or coils... hadn't decided which), but it looks like that's not happening for a while now :evil:

I had paintless dent removal on my other ride after a hailstorm. 100s of dints. Brilliant, not a blemish.

Obviously it counts on the guy who does it, but as a method, you can't beat it.

Unfortunately, that doesn't look alike the sort of dent paintless removal can fix perfectly. :cry:

It looks to me like someone was backing into the spot and hit your car with their bumper.
Keep checking cars in your parking lot and see if you can find one with his right rear corner stoved in a bit and some of your red paint on it.
Then when you find the car, chain it up so it can't be moved and put your phone number on his windscreen so he has to ring you to move his car.
It's amazing how much money you can get out of someone when they can't move their car!

Agree with Benny regarding probable cause - it looks identical to the ding my NA copped after a dunce in a Falcon backed into it.

I checked with the security guard at the parking station today and apparently all the security cameras in the complex are aimed at the entrance and exit :roll:

Had a look at all the white cars in the level and didn't notice any red lipstick as a result from the kiss with my bumper... In a carpark with hundreds of random cars entering and exiting... Finding the culprit will be like a needle in a very big haystack.

I'm tossing up my options right now... would it be cheaper to fix it or to scope out a new fender (and risk the paint colour not matching the rest of the car)?

Either way it's going to be an expensive fix that I shouldn't really be liable for... Fukkers...

Got a quote from Hume Smash today, it's going to set me back $400 for the ding to be removed and the panel to be fixed in the same condition it rolled off the showroom floor.

Although I'm not happy in forking out the dosh for this ding, I think the pricing offered by Hume to be quite reasonable.

Met Mick as well and he really is a top bloke.
