bought a pair of kicker 6.2 speakers for the front doors
they hump
im running them straight off the Pioneer deck no amp etc
i bought these speakers cause they are quality and because they had a screw in tweeter. I thought it would be good to keep the cars interior pretty close to stock so it doesnt look to gaudy / blingy so i could hide the tweeters instead of mount them on the dash etc
BUT
they were too wide to get the cover back on the door speaker
so I flush mounted them in the doors
hope you like it
1st i got rid of the old jbl pieces of sh*t out the door and pulled the skin off
I checked the depths and found a good spot to mount em and marked it up

then i got a staley knife and cut though the vinyl/ padding out then got a 2 1/2 inch hole saw and cut the moulded plastic out too

i put in the tweeter through the door skin and did the nut up on the back
the first nut was too deep so i broke little brackets off the other set provided and they were perfect. I think the depth was about 250mm or so, so it fit very well in the void the NA models have here

i then ran new wiring for both the mids and tweeters (seperately wired )through the door into the car via the rubber grommets between the door / body ( bit fiddley) then ran the wires up under both sides of the dash to the back area of the stereo head unit. ( making sure to label everything well !)

I then plugged the wires onto the speakers and tweeters and mounted the door skin back on door

i then got the crossovers that are provided with the speakers to split the midrange/bass and tweeter
I wired them up accordingly, the left tweeter and midrange to the crossover then wired the lhs front speaker wires from the head unit to the crossover and same for the right - heres a crppy diagram of what im trying to say incase its not clear

and in real life

again i didnt want the crossovers in the cabin so i fit them perfectly in behind the pioneer deck

and what a difference they make
they are simply awesome sound for no AMP and i paid $220 for them by haggling the guy at JB hifi ( the sticker price was $289.00)
i couldnt be happier or reccomend Kicker speakers more highly
and this all took me about 3 hours
hope i have been of help to any of you contemplating new speakers for @ 200 bucks
