OK, so had a look and found something that looked like it just might contribute to the problem
(no it wasn't this obvious, the line from the seat was tucked into the seat and the other line was under the console... dodgy dodgy)
The passenger side was fine though, but I fixed up the driver's side... however... no dice.
So I'm following leads back to the dash. Took the dash apart and found some more dodgy shenanigans! The wires from headrests are not connected here at all.
I am no electrician, but is connecting up the right wires to the right connectors easily determined? The Workshop manual I have does not have info about this head unit.
Sounds like time for a CD player?
I also found the line from seatbelt to dash was unconnected, so also connected that up. Now the car BEEPS when I start it without having the seatbelt done up. Cool?!
