Anyone got these BSA Wheels

Postby Brad » Tue Sep 25, 2007 3:16 pm

Looking at a set of these wheels in 16x6.5, not sure if I'm going to go black or gold. Red and gold works well, but the black with polished lip also looks hot. Has anyone got any pics of them on their car?

The devil took all my money for genuine ones...swings and round abouts :D

To be honest, I'll probably take the stickers off (if they are on them anyway) as I hate obvious rip-offs, I just love the style regardless.

Why, they are certainly not heavy. What else is wrong with them?

Their just rims, if they meet your criteria for size, offset, weigth and price - go for it..

FWIW Some of the fakes coming out of italy are very nice rims

not heavy?
i reckon maybe 1.5 to 2x the weight of the originals.
and probly the same amount of strength reduction.

7.5kg actually. Originals are 5.7kg. Mania have advised that they've never had one break on them.

Wheels imported to Australia have to meet standards in order to be sold here, so strength should not ever be an issue, especially on a light car like ours. Weight is a different matter - often wheels are heavier than they need to be simply to meet the 'universal' applications they can be put to. Tony Simmons has said to me that he could make a wheel as light as the Mazda OEM wheel in a 16\" that would be perfect for our cars, but he has to build them strong enough to fit on any other car around that they can bolt up to, hence they must be heavier :(

My Aus Racing wheels (same factory/importer as BSA) have been brilliant - 1kg heavier than OEM and have done 60000km on some awful roads without any problem, and they still look great. :D

I'm amazed they have no legal issues due to them having the actual stickers on them... same pattern is disputable but that's an outright counterfeit

VORK RAVS

If they get taken down for that, I don't think there'll be anymore commerce in China...!

TE37s 16x7s are 5.1kg, so 6.5 should be under 5kg.
and they are about 20% heavier than CE28s

From our experience with the racing cars, anything under about 8 or 9kgs is fine. If we can't tell the difference, I'll bet you can't on the street.

I have those in 15x6.5 and they will be for sale soon because I just got my 15x8's. I used them as track only and have nothing but praise for them, they are certainly not insanely heavy, they look good and they go around and around... so all main criteria met :)

Sorry, I was referring to OEM NA8 items, the non-hollow ones.

Well the decision has been made regardless, I went for Black with Yoko S.Drive AS01 in 205/16/45.

I actually got them locally for an insane price. Sorry Mania :(
