Huge Saturday of Re-Wiring (NOW WITH PICS)

Hey Guys..

me and my best mate spent 6 hours cleaning up the wiring and re-mount of my Amp/Sub Etc.. and made my DVD Screen nice and snug in the dash

you would not believe how much wiring came out of the NA.. (will post pics

)

I ended up mounting my Amp Behind my passenger seat NOW I CAN ADJUST MY BASS FROM THE FRONT SEAT

and reverse mounted my sub.. we are actually in the process of re-designing my whole boot (inspiration from LowMiata

)

i will post some pics of the finished product when i get home from work..

I hate re-wiring, it's just soo frustrating trying to trace back wires

Today I accidentally flipped a switch on the amp for my front speakers to the Low pass filter setting, spent ages trying to figure out what had happened, swapping RCA's and checking all the amp fuses and speaker connections :evil:

on another note, I have a different solution to changing sub gain levels from inside the cabin, don't want to Hijack your thread by posting a pic but they are up in My audio install thread . It's a remote line controller for the amp.

hey SM

yeah i had one of those on my sub originally it was inside my centre console (i had a soundstorm controller) but it was damaged and when i got my 4 channel amp the sub control was a dfifferent connection.

but its just like having a sub controller now my amp is behind the seat

So what was all that wiring you pulled out? Just speaker related wiring, or did you do a whole bunch of other stuff too while you were at it?

believe it or not all that was behind the headunit..
some is sub wire etc..

my car goes faster now

So what was the wiring then? Just factory bits and pieces that you've now shortened? Or were they all wires you replaced?

I'm just curious to know how the car's running without all that wiring in there...

all 3 factory harnesses, speaker cables from 2nd and 3rd head unit..

(those ****'s from strathfield never removed any of the harnesses just added new wiring from them)..

lets just say that the DVD player sits all the way in now.. without the cusioning of wiring behind it..

Jeez that's a lotta stuff to have back there. Mine's snug enough as it is with only one set of speaker wiring, let alone having 3 sets.

You should try fitting a double din HU to an NB....the wiring loom doesnt bend easily, so makes for a tight fit

Yeah, the loom is bloody short, and doesn't flex out to give you enough length for connectivity some times. I'm kinda tempted to just cut it open and restrip wires for better connections. Maybe this weekend. I'm thinking of hooking up the aerial finally, although not with any button. I just can't be bothered, so I'm gonna wire it to power and just have it raise/lower whenever the car is on/off.
