I know they use different inlet manifolds, the nb6 has the same throttle body as a nb8b and also has a variable tps. The head has solit lifters afaik.
I believe the manifolds should be interchangable, dont know bout comp ratio.

Head, manifolds etc are not interchangable.
Well, not individually anyway....
I can't imaging why you couldn't successfully put a NB6 head on an NA6 engine, but you would need to change over all the ins/outs for the head.
I also can't imagine why you would want to do this?

DIffernt spacing, it's almost completely a different design, I looked into getting one for my 1.6 to take advantage of the VVT, but not interchangeable, if someone really want this engine, SSS Automotive in Sydney have one in stock at the moment, I beleive it's the only one currently for sale in Australia.

Manifolds ARE interchangable, they do not have vvt, I think you may be getting confused with the nb8b Sean?
To use one of these engines in an na6 the inlet cam needs to be modified by attaching the CAS drive from a na6 cam, as they do not have this to begin with.
I know of 2 available in QLD.
They can be fitted to a na6, it has been done before.

I must be confusing it with a differnt car? There was 1600 VVT in an mx5 in other markets I thought, which is teh engine SSS have, it's a 1.6 mazda with VVT/SVT...
I could be mistake, but I was certain ti was in JDM late model 1.6 cars?
