Very sexy.

I'm a big fan of the sparco roadster seats too.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I've always liked that Bride seat - pure JDM.

Tell me Okibi, do you have any better pix of the above seats?

Thanks guys. I was contemplating to get a pair of Sparco Roadsters too before, but I read it somewhere that the side shoulder bolster will need to be shaved (hello angle grinder) a bit to fit into the cabin.
But really, Bride PROS is just on a different level altogether.
The craftsmanship is excellent and it fits like a glove in the 5.

Because the seat is a bit higher and is wider around my shoulders it's now harder to reach behind me, flick the soft top over the brown davis and catch it with my other hand. :?

Wind drivers window down, reach out and back with your right arm and grab the frame edge and lift up - works a treat for the less vertically challenged driver 8)

Does Bride have a website I can check out?

I figure if I want to upgrade seats I may as well go all out and get a set of race seats that are leather trim like yours.

What's the lumbar support like in those seats Andy? I should've really had a sit in your car at Mania, but was distracted by other random things at the time.

Guys,

I am quite keen on getting some of Max's seat covers - but here is my question:

I have an SP. Are these the same seats as the NB8B / NB8A / SE, or what? I just want to make sure I order the right ones...

Thanks

C.

I've not come across many Bride websites on the net
This is the site that I use to get more info on them

http://www.mx5cartalk.com/

Seat is not a comfortable as the OE seat (it is a steel framed, leather bucket seat), but it does hold you in place snugly and securely.
Getting in and out can be tricky at first, but I have no problems with it now.
Side bolsters and hip bolsters aren't as tall/wide as other seats out there, so it is liveable.
Shoulder area is a little small regardless of your frame, so you may find your back arching forward a little when driving.
I would invest in another form of lower back support if any long driving trips is in the agenda.
I only live 5km from work, so I have no problems with it. If you have to brave the mad commuting rush hour on a daily basis, I would recommend a recliner instead (or the Sparco Roadster 2s)

My 2 cents.

After new seats

Postby hot rod » Mon Sep 24, 2007 7:25 pm

I'm looking for new seats atm for my NA.

The SE seats look nice and although I've never sat in one, they don't look like they offer the support of say a Recaro. I'd prefer to stick with a Mazda option as they are easy to fit but has anyone found another solution, i.e like a Recaro from an EVO or even possibly an RX8 seat?

I would like to be able to run a harness so would prefer holes in them to run through, i.e Honda sepc Recaro's.

The Bride seats look great but I'd probably go a recliner version ($$). Any more suggestions guys?

I'm looking at getting some in on a container so a factory fitted seat will work out quite cheap if a suitable solution can be sourced.

Hmmm... Maybe recliners are the way to go.

But then again, it'd probably be cheap enough to just add some padding to the NB8A seats if I get them retrimmed in leather.

I think I just need to sit in other people's cars more :P

I would think that the RX8/Evo seat would be too wide and big for the MX5.
The seat can't be wider than 21' across from memory. Got this figure from Kelvin (Eggbox)

Go for the NB8B seats I'd say, they look sexy.

mmm... Might just have to wait for a cheap set to come along, poach them, then get them retrimmed. It'd probably suit my purposes better.

I love my Sparco Sprint but it takes two hands free to get in and out easily! :P
