Speed Bleeder for bleeding breaks...

Was trying to bleed breaks today.... I stuffed up bad I couldnt losen one of the nipples and basically by the end of the day the bolt is totally round! I think I need vice grips and WD40 to get it off now...

I will have to replace the bleeder screw I was thinking of replacing it with this:

Has anyone used it?

Is it safe?

Have you had problems with it leaking etc?

I have used those for years, and have them on both my cars. They are an excellent product, and you get a nice firm pedal....make sure you buy the optional hose and bleeder bag too, it makes it really mess-free.

Wait Wait....

The speed bleeder you have is it on the NA or NB???

Can the speed bleeder from an NA be used on the NB or is the thread and size of the nipple different???

Hmm...that is a good point, mine is an NA and they don't seem to list a part # for NB.

I think it is the same tho...I mean the Luce bleed nipples are the same part number as the NA.

I can't remember exactly how I worked this out, but a few yrs ago I bought a set of the speedbleeders for Jolt's NB8C (he never got around to fitting them)...and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have done that if I didn't have some idea that they would fit....I think I might have found something on Miata.net forum to say that they were the same...

Whats the stuff that you guys are putting on the thread of the bleeder?

Apparently some people use teflon tape???

Don't put anything on the threads of the bleeder. It comes with a coating of a special sealant (so that fluid under pressure doesn't leak past the threads when you loosen them for bleeding) so it's not necessary to put anything on.
