ok, just put in an order for the o2 clamp & a wideband. I have the plug & play as well the emu 550cc injectors & greddy pressure sensor.....
I think this is all i need to get it all happening !!
as soon as i get it all together i'll get some pics up of the install & do an explanation of what everything does & how usable it all is !!!

ok to date i have spent
$550 for emu & pressure switch (though ebay)
$220 on a loom
$100 on the o2 clamp
$50 for 550cc injectors (from an s5 rx7)
$300 on a wide band & 4 wire sensor (not needed if you get the car tuned by a shop)
so a total of
$870 plug & play but you would need to to the car to a tuner & get it tuned (not inc injectors)
or
$1170 with the wideband that does an autotune (although i will need to clean up some maps & play with timing on a dyno if i want more power)
but the autotune should give me a good street tune with a little "street adjusting" ;) (not inc injectors)
considering its a plug & play i think that is money well spent as a standalone would have cost me more then that & still need a wideband or tune.....
i'll keep you all posted as to how user freindly it is as soon as all the parts come to me.
oh & dont forget that with the wide band anyone who wants to borrow it can, or if i want to check a/f's on another car i can, its not something that is hard wired into the car, so the money spend on it can be shared on more then one of my cars or mates projects....
including the cost of the avo kit the complete install should be just under $4500, not inc a cat back exhaust which i will worry about when i start chasing more power.
i think thats a good price for a kit & plug & play ecu that has a whole lot more potential in the future....

you do realise that the auto tune WILL NOT WORK correctly on the ultimate, unless you bought the Genuine Greddy presure sensor and greddy wideband unit dont you??????
if you have generic units you may as weel have bought a BLUE

i do have a genuine pressure sensor.......
could you please tell me where to find a greddy wide band unit & how it differs from "other units"????
the guys on the turbo forum seem to be having no problems with other units....
why do you hate the ultimate so much???

as for the budget ... time will tell & if all else fails at least i tried, but if it works i would have saved a shite load of money & will be able to help all the guys in oz that want to do the same thing but are put off by people that havent tried the combo themselves but are quick to talk about how bad it must be cos no one else has one here......

i dont hate the ultimate..i just think its way over priced and total overkill for an MX5piggy back system...
People get sucked into thinking the \"ULTIMATE\" will be better because of the name. They dont actually think about what they want to acheive...All these features that people go on about the ultimate are only truely applicable if you run ALL genuine sensors....if you dont, then you have to interpret the data and make maps accordingly. This is how an emanage blue works, so why buy an ultimate?? Look at how many trouble shooting threads there are about the Ultimate compared to the BLue at least 3 times the amount because the ultimate is soo fussy.
The ultimate was designed to work around complex computors as found in GTR's and Batmobile RX7's...something an mx5 doesnt have.

Hey 4sfed5, you would be right in a lot of what you say, the reason i went for the ultimate was because i could get injectors (that will work with future plans) really cheap which made the blue & ultimate the same price once you added the price of smaller injectors that would not do the job later on down the track. also there is limited allowance for injector size with the blue which would have meant i would need to replace it one day with something that could handle the fuel the car would need when i do decide to go the whole hog.(unless going the larger fuel pump & pfr route) one other feature that i really like about the emu is that you can pull fuel out of it which to me is important... i didnt really look at all the wizbang features of the emu, but took into consideration what i wanted to do with the car short & long term & the emu on paper provided everything i needed. as yet i havent plugged it in (im STILL waiting on the p&p) ((bloody australia post)) but as soon as i do i will be letting everyone know if its all its hyped up to be & if it is its still a much cheaper option then a standalone unit that would do the same tasks....
if not i will get a emb until i bite the bullet & go standalone.
im not trying to start sh*t fights or anything like that but really would have liked some feedback on how to make it all work instead of getting told what i have will be useless & is over priced. i think for the money i paid for it its well worth having a look at which is another reason i went for it.

update i my plaug & play loom FINALLY arrived
the emu is going in over the weekend & i will be having a play around with it, once it all works well i'll be putting in the injectors & will see how all that goes, just a quicky what timing do people recommend for an na? & is that on ulp or pulp?

update, i put it in after i set it up it started first pop, its very plug & play & does everything it should do so far. i put a little timing into it also & works well so so far so good. I didnt have any problems setting it up at all so for now a good buy 
will keep you posted & let you know when i put the wide band in & play around with fuel
