It will be the first time I've had semi-slicks and light-weight 15's. Monoflex coil-overs and an LSD with 4.1:1(from 3.606) final drive ratio. Also trying slightly different alignment settings. If I can get down from low 1:18's to 1:15's and start chasing the Guyders I'll be pretty happy for a first outing....expecting I'll be spending half the day fiddling with shocks and tyre temperatures...

Got my confirmation though and only worry is I dropped the diff housing off this morning, need to get that back and put the drive-line of the car back together, install the EDFC...then to be honest I should really get a muffler too :P

Going to be busy and rushed but can't wait.

Looking forward to my first track day! How much fuel do you usually use at a Wakefield track day?

Usually filling up before we start, I'll have less than a quarter of a tank left by the time to go home. I got from Wakefield to Albion Park without refilling driving VERY carefully and ending up on the empty mark. Driving from Wollongong...on average I probaly use nearly 2 tanks in total for the day.

Thanks for that. So maybe allow for about half a tank for the track? If I fill up before driving down from Sydney, I should have enough to get through the track day and then a little top up for the drive home?

I'd be thinking more 2/3rds to 3/4's of a tank for the track work. If your worried about weight I remember Matt mentioning he leaves the car at about half a tank when he starts, then fills the car from a can during the day. Though he trailors his car around and has got a fair bit more experience. I'd be more concerned with just having fun and learning to drive your first day. Just fill the car up at Exeter or in Goulbourne on the way then you won't have to worry about making a fuel run between sessions. The servo is a decent 15-20 minutes round trip from the track. My only advice is don't follow someone else home from the track who has semi-slicks.... your windscreen will thank you.

If you are driving an NB you should take a spare 4 or 5 litre gerry can of fuel. Fill up before you leave Sydney and then you may need to use the spare fuel at the end of the day to get back into Goulburn to fill up.
My NB got around 27 litres/100 kilometres on the track and you do about 70 kilometres in the day.

If your car is turboed, well...............fill up in Goulburn and take the spare fuel.

If you have a NC then you will have a 1/4 tank left at the end of the day.

Another tip is before you leave Sydney is put 37psi in your tyres as sometimes the pump at the track is broken or there is a line up of cars waiting for air.

Also make sure that your oil level is OK

Latest news for the coming event. We have 55 cars running on the day 8) including 11 first timers who will have a ball.

Everyone who has entered has a start. :D

Everyone should have received by post their paperwork for the event as it went out last Sunday night.

See you there.

Well that was a fun day. Didn't rain during any of the sessions, Irwin magically got a spot and a drive. I learnt an important lesson in changing only a few things at a time.... everytime I went slower I had to try and figure out if it was my lead-foot, bad-lines, suspension setup or tyre pressure....which was probaly combinations of each of those.

First session I only dropped the semi's to 32psi, came off and they were at 37psi(heated up much faster than I thought). I had a blonde moment with the EDFC number (higher is softer) and put what I thought was max hard on the front...and slightly softer on the rear ended up being 8/16 notches hard on rear, 0/16 on the front ...Most people should have some notion of what that would do to an already oversteering NB8B :D

Charlie Brown took me for a run during lunch which I think will end up netting me better times than all the money I just spent....Can't wait to get more seat time in now.
