Cleaner/Wax

Postby ducktape69 » Wed Sep 05, 2007 2:06 pm

i tried meguiars cleaner/wax paste a couple days ago and i was really surprised how good it was at taking out most of the swirl and scratches(by hand)...

does this actually remove swirls or just fill them in?

Cheers,
Sam

If it worked by hand, I'm guessing filler. You really need a rotary buffer or at least a random orbital buffer to remove swirls/scratches.

If your rag changes colour then it's a cutting compound.

There will be no colour on the rag if you're polishing clear over base though.

True I wasn't thinking clear . All the cleaner waxes I've used though send my rags red. Should be written on the tin.
