Haha as in, it will pull that much on the dyno, however daily driving will be around the 180 - 190 mark. The current engine is built to handle 23psi on the dyno, and the SE's engine will be the same. There is no way I would try to drive it around town like that though, I value my life too much haha

Thanks to Mr Monkey and the Mania team for organising a fun day. Some nice power there from a few cars. 8) I'm feeling inadequate now. Blown away by an SE! The shame. Nice work there blackster 8)

A special mention to the chef who doesn't even drive an MX5 but donated some of his life to cook us lunch. And to poor David stuck in the workshop all day breathing all those exhaust fumes. I'm guessing he had really sore eyes and the headache from hell on Saturday night

PS. Al isn't allowed to go to any more dyno runs. He keeps winning :P :P :P 8)

I'm surprised that 180kws won the day. There should be plenty of MX5's running around with low to mid 200kws by now. Maybe they all live interstate. It's not all about handling you know! I'm sure someone will slap me with my horse head trophy next year. But until then.............

A huge thanks to Mania for organising a great day. Good to catch up with a lot of people as well.

Nice to know the car is still making good power at 151kw. On the last dyno a Berowra it was 153 so fairly consistent between the two dyno's.

Al, I don't know if I want to see that thing of yours above 200kw when the new motor goes in if your still keeping the standard width tyres.

P.S. Hope you weren't in too much trouble when you got home.

Good power but when you factor in your fat arse it's not so fast! :P

Funnily enough, an auto NA got put on after you left.

It was quite amusing to watch. The power curve was basically flat at I think something like 60kw all the way through the rev range.

The wife should have been in trouble for dragging me away! Missed out on seeing Fuzzlets face when he came up 2kws short. Now I have to wait 'till next year

Imagine I was carrying around a camel hump full of water? I'd have to change the colour of the car too.

His face was priceless. Came out of the workshop murmuring something about damned apprentices and bloody wrong spark plugs. He had his book of excuses ready to go!!! It was running bloddy rough though so I belive there is some good power in that thing.

Thanks to all the crew that made the day so enjoyable.
Josh, you did a great job organising everyone and it all seemed to go very smoothly.

The RX-8 at 150RWkW was interesting too.

My car only pulled 127 RWKW because of a faulty boost controller (I knew it wasn't performing well) but it was a great day all around.

Great to meet more people off the forum too.

Dave managed to foul the plugs up earlier in the week, so put some dodgy ones in so as to move the car, but forgot to change them back for the dyno....
