Grays Road - Brisbane

If you're looking for a fun minute or so, there is a road just off Kingsford Smith Drive that is pretty much a hillclimb. It's a lot of fun - 2 hairpins, a chicane and a couple other corners, but it's only about 800m long. It has got a couple of potholes in between the 2 hairpins, but I've been enjoying driving up it on the way home from uni for several months now.

I would have hated that - there are some parts that are very narrow on that road. There is very good visibility on it so I would have seen you coming.

Nah, not yet - I haven't got my mx5 yet, but once I do I'll probably join. I won't have the money for the car until next year, so yeah. I'm a uni student so I can only really work on the holidays.

Ah, good ol' Grays Rd, know it well. I often detour that way. :D

I first discovered its virtues a few years ago when test driving a new WRX. The sales girl suggested I turn up there off KS Drive! I'm glad I took her advice.

Ha,
I took this road a few weeks back in the work car and yes it's short but it's a great little run, maybe a bit too narrow to be too adventerous but never the less a great way to get rid of the pent up anger after sitting in traffic on Kingsford :)
