so do we have no's for stock 1.6's & 1.8's ?
My stock 1.6 found 72kW to play with, not sure if any other 1.6's were stock.
That was by far the best MX meet I've be to yet! Could have been that we didn't have anywhere to go ~ less rushed = easier going atmosphere. I was however at one point accosted by an agreeable lady begging me to buy her car...
To the whole Mania Team - Congrats on an absolutely brilliant day!

Another brilliant day at Mania
Went on the dyno for the first time since I bought the car
I suppose 73KW out of a stock 1.8 with CAI only isn't too bad
Did I win the lowest hp for NA8 award?
Met Benny, Bigdog, Ajay, Marcusus, Jean Cook, Jonno and a lot others
Everyone was probably more attracted to the Bride bucket seat in my car than the dyno figures

Thanks to the Mania crew for a great day. Didn't expect a win with fuzzlets car there but......well.....I'LL TAKE IT If I can offer any advice it would be, \"go the 1.6 dawg!\". Special thanks to Walter and Daniel for there work on the fueling and the tune. It's all about the tune.

What's the standard baseline figure for a 1.6? Isn't it 65?
My car (1.8 Clubman with CAI) did 4 runs and the figures were as follow:
1st run - 70kw
2nd run - 72kw
3rd run - 73kw
4th run - 73kw
I thought that was pretty average along the lines of what a 1.8 NA8 with a CAI mod should do.
A stock NB with no mod did 83kw before my run.
A stock 1.6 with 72Kw is a bit of a surprise I must admit, I was thinking it would be in the high 60s.
Ajay's 1.6 did 79kw with CAI, enlarged intake, Xforce headers and Magnaflow exhaust.

AL - Yeah I was hoping for a better result, but the apprentice had put some dodgy spark plugs in my car, and left water in the plug wells after de-greasing the engine....Yea, its all about the tune. The car still had a tune that we were trying to get to pass emissions, and give a certain bit of fuel economy.....when it comes time to do the SE, we're hoping for a reliable 220 - 230rwkw
Blackster - Good thing u went on the dyno, it goes to show the sort of power that can be extracted from an SE without wild modifications

well the stock NA6 auto got 65kw.. so 72kw out of a stock NA6 manual is pretty good!

Mate, leather race seats? What'd you expect?
SM wrote:So what did the Mania race car manage to get??? they were going to put it on just as I left
The Mania race car pulled I think 194 (fuzzlet's magic number ) with the limiter turned off. With the limiter on, it hit I think 182 or thereabouts.
I'm really quite surprised that my NB8A with nothing but a (SuziTech) CAI managed to pull 87. I suppose the absolute figures don't really matter since it's dyno dependant. But that's still 2kw more than a bog stock NB8A (green as well... Nice car Pete! ), and funnily enough, the NB8B was about the same as the NB8A which is surprising.

There is more power in my setup without detonation. I added a 12" stainless resinator and turned down the EBC from 14.5 to 13psi during winter. So i am not suprised that the car ran 160rwkw as opposed to 170rwkw during winter. Overall very happy with the car's performance especially when seeing 600nm of torque, its more then adequate for a road car.
