Wheel Alignment in Melbourne

Postby green_comet » Mon Aug 27, 2007 8:20 pm

Hey guys,

I would just like to know of a good place in Melbourne, to get my alignment done. I was thinking of taking it to Trackside tyres, but its a bit to far for me to drive.

I have heard a few people talk about Trutrack in North Melbourne, are they any good?
Is there any other places that will do a good job, and ask me what settings im after? I need quite alot of camber, due to the offset/width of my new wheels.

any help would be very appreciated.

Cheers
Ryan

Bob Jane in Prahran.
Traction Tyres in Rowville.
Stuckeys in Coburg.
Bob Jane in Essendon.

All have done good work for me.

my car is at centreline in thomastown at the moment. he was recommended to me by one of the faster motorsport guys . can't rally report anything yet, but so far he seems to know what he is on about (lots lof race cars in there, v8 supercars etc). before that, dick at mx5 factory did an alignment for me (or at least, subcontracted it out to someone local who he sends all his cars to, so they are familiar with mx5's). he did a good job, much better than the subsequent aligment i had done by the local bob jane guys.

I only trust Traction Tyres in Rowville, after a few bad experiences at other places. Also heard of good things about Centerline as well.

The Mag Wheel Shop in Richmond do great work, or try Bob Jane in Epping. I have used them both.
Sadly MX5 less for a while.

I just got my car back from Centreline Suspesnion in Thomastown..

What a huge difference the alignment has made, the car corners and rides soo much better than before. The alignment took about one and a half hours, in that time they test drove and re-altered the alignment about 4 times till it was spot on.

Thanks heaps Fatty for their info, I saw your car there too with its new teins and everything else fitted.. :D

$90 for a 4 wheel alignment. Not bad considering how long it took, and the great results..

happy to help out mate.

yep i picked my car up today, and i'm very happy with the improvements in the handling (from my quick test drive and drive home, at least). as you saw, my car is a bit of an ugly duckling. it looks very craptastic, but i'm focusing on the mechanical bits at the moment. once all that is sorted, i'll make it look nice and pretty . 8)
