With a head like this, it's no surprise Daddy is concerned. I'd be concerned for everything alive, including my plants.
Looks like he could suck a brick dry

A couple of years ago I had my bumper repaired and quater panel replaced along with the lip installed and everything painted at the MX5 Factory and it cost the insurance company $1200.

Thats whos quoted it. Ive got the quote here somewhere. Its a new bumper, not a repair.... does that change the cries of go elsewhere ? If so, suggest somewhere that knows WTF they are doing in the Sth East of Melb and will give me a courtsy car while they do it ??

Hmmm, everyone here always recommends them. I really don't know why it is so much. It should be easily under $1k. Maybe the bumper costs a truckload to purchase as they get rarer from Mazda. You could lessen the bill by supplting them with the bumper. Go to a wreckers and buy one that's in good condition structurally for cheap. Doesn't really matter what the paint work is like as it would need sanding and respraying anyway.

Actually, prepping a poor bumper could cost more than buying a new one (just been there...) so be guided by the experts. Buying a red bumper in good nick and bolting it up might be a possibility if there are any about.

You could always visit Andrew's place and swap his over - he'll be in the yard staring at the moon, so he'll never notice

Na, in my old car (an NB8A), I needed a new front bar. Mazda Parramatta said they had an NB8B bar there for $350 primed, ready to paint. Maybe it was just one they had that they wanted to get rid of.

If $650 is the price on an unpainted bar, then $1300 is looking a little more realistic. I still think around the $1000 mark is closer though. :?

I had issues a few months back too - has someone turn into me going through a set of lights. Anyway, got 2 estimates for insurance, both were around $1300 - which would consist of indicator/park light assembly, and replacement bumper repainted. Still waiting to get it fixed, as I had to get the light done within a week for rego, and the paint is hardly noticeable really. And of course, the insurance company sent me a letter saying I still had to pay my excess.

Bevan most panel beaters I know charge $500 per panel/bumper (light repair and spray) and $750 for a roof, I agree with you though it's very dear.

I just wanted to vent and say how pissed off I am....

My boyfriend still hasnt coughed up the cash to fix my car.... and Im getting really annoyed.

He seemed so apoligetic when he did it.... But seems to be in no hurry to orgaines the funds for repair. If I had hurt someone elses car I'd be tripping over myself to get it fixed.

He was planning on paying for it out of the personal loan which is finacing the purchase of his own car, just borrowing that little extra to pay for Cherry's repairs. He put in an application and the bank lost it  !

GRRRRR. He hasnt been able to reapply because he gave the bank original payslips with the application he submitted... which where subsiquently lost. And he still hasnt arranged new pay slips to settle the loan... and Im getting really upset about it.

Fix my F&%(&^()ing car !

Just withhold something he enjoys until it's fixed.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
