Cherry vs garage - Fixed and looking beautiful!

Postby MonSqueek » Mon Aug 27, 2007 3:50 pm

Ok, so my boyfriend was forced to move my car while I was interstate, and in doing so he hit the garage ! Grrrr. So again, My car is all messed up. It needs a front bumper cauz he put a HOLE in the side of it (near indicator) and also some minor work on the side panel.

Seeings as it needs a new bumper, and he is paying out of his own pocket, this is not going through insurance... Should I take the opitunity to put something spiffier on there instead of OEM.... if so, what do you suggest and can you post linkies or pics for me ?

Thanks again boys (and gals) !

Ohh I like the lip.... that does look pretty. Where and how much ?

To get the OEM new and repair the other scratch/dent damage is going to be $1300 plus gst !

I hope he learnt his lesson.

$1300 WFT :!: :!: :!:

oh well not to worry, retail for the lip alone is between $600 and $800.

If you put the lip on it'd end up looking like Andrew's car, and you wouldn't want that Mon :P  :P

Where did you take it? That is a MASSIVE rip-off to me. From what I remember, a front bar from Mazda is about $350, and a quarter panel is about $200. So that's $550 in parts (Brand New), ready to spray.

My g/f dad backed into me a while back. Got a quote from Hume Smash Repairs for $650 inc GST. That is for everything:
Remove and install bumper (bitch of a job)
New badge
New aluminium support (sits in front of the radiator)
Sand and prep bumper
Respray

Judging by that, you are paying $800 for a quarter panel repair. Go somewhere else, they are taking you for a ride.

A couple of years ago I had my bumper repaired and quater panel replaced along with the lip installed and everything painted at the MX5 Factory and it cost the insurance company $1200.
