Hunter Chapter Coffee & Lies Twilight Meeting

Postby Tom » Sun Aug 12, 2007 6:12 pm

Since a few of us are having trouble getting to the Saturday Coffee & Lies, we have decided to trial a Thursday twilight meeting.

The first Twilight Coffee & Lies will be held at 7:00pm at Newcastle Panthers Club, cnr Union & King Streets, Newcastle on Thursday 23 August.

Those of us that want the $10 meal deal (Schnitzel, chips & salad/vegetables and a free schooner of beer) can get there at 6:00pm.

I would like us to discuss fliers, runs and future events ect.

G'day Tom,

Good to hear you have this organised. I should be able to make this!

There is another local lad who is looking to buy his first NA MX5, so I am going to invite him along to this.

Is this going to replace this Saturday for this month?

Sorry, I didn't realise the last Saturday of the month was 2 days later.

We'll just have to discuss what night of the month if we want a twilight meeting in the future, and if we want a Saturday meeting as well. Some of us can't make the Saturday meeting and there are probably some members who can make it to the Saturday morning meeting but can't attend a weeknight meeting.

What happened to the Saturday Coffee & Lies

Postby PhilM » Sat Aug 25, 2007 9:57 pm

I went into the Juicy Beans this morning - at 10.15 -10.30 - no one else to do with Mx5s that I could recognise???
Did any one else turn up??

Does this mean that no one is interested in Sat any more or did the rain frighten everyone away!!
I was a bit peeved as it was about 3 hours of wasted Saturday morning especially when I didnt drive the Mx5 in.

My apologies for my part Phil.

I wasn't sure if there was going to be a crowd on Saturday and I did not post a reminder here... I think.

I was away in Sydney for my own part and as a general rule, with the motorsport season on at the moment, it is hard for me to commit to getting to these meetings.

I'm not sure if any of those who attended on Thursday night put up their hand to be a direct liaison person to discuss the Chapters plans with the NSW Club, but it would appear to be a good idea if someone would. I would do so myself, but for my aforementioned difficulties.

Details of Thursday's Twilight C&L

Postby PhilM » Tue Aug 28, 2007 9:45 pm

Tom is having trouble with his internet access so he asked me to put out some details of last Thursdays meeting at Club Panthers.

5 people attended, 4 of us had dinner - pretty good value for $10 including a free drink.

We discussed the viability of a non Saturday morning get together for those who cannot get there on a Sat. It was agreed to try meeting on Thursday at Panthers at 7.00pm on the 2nd Thurs every month as well as the Saturday 10.00 am at the Juicy Bean on the last Sat of the month. The

Hunter Run will be held when possible on the 1st Sunday of the month this was the day allotted by the Mx-5 Club program.

The September Fathers day run will be led by Tom to Pt Stephens.
The October Run will be led by Steve to Chichester on 7th
November Run will be to the Central Coast on the 11th ( there is something else Mx-5 NSW on 4th)
The xmas party has been booked for 23 Dec at Nightingale Wines for lunch.
Tom will get a Post on the forum with more details before each event and details will be sent to the club to post on the NSW web site.

Remember: this Sunday (2nd) at the end of F3 BP Servo at 10:00 am.
