was 365 bucks from car mate
if you cant do the work youself expect to pay roughly that again + a bit extra to get it to fit properly
and on top of that it wasn't the bar that I originally ordered.
after waiting 8 weeks to be told sorry we sold that one to some one
4 weeks later they send me my bar with bomex sunken sections and the 10mm rudius cutin all the way around all has since grown on me but I wasn't happy
I did all the work myself so I can write the cost off but if you were getting someone to fit the cost could get exy
I bought my RB type 1 bar from miata sport in adelaide along with the rest of my kit
I since sold the roadstercover to drift fury and the rb1 bar to UA
defianatly buyer be ware
FWIW the RB1 copy (SSV Miatasport)fit quite well and offer a sexy alternative to the front lip and the bottom section does come out as far as the nose
I have had the front lip the RB1 nose and now the one I have got if i were to do another mx it would have the rb1 or 2 nose
if you can get genuine rb stuff it fits really well and worth it

Thanks heaps for your help. I can fit the bar myself and have a mate that runs a fiberglass shop, if I get into too much trouble he will help. The problem Is he does hot rods and isn't really interested in body kits, he has all the work he needs.
The bar that caught my eye at Carmate was the BX style front bar, but the pictures are rough and hard to see the detail of the bar. Any idea where I might get a better picture of that bar?
There is a bar on the( Body Kit Thread for NA) on about the 4th page it's all carbon fibre, That is what i'd really like , just the shape not the carbon fibre, but I suppose you would have to import it from Japan and that would cost heaps.

the RB1 nose i bought has some join marks in it at either end, near where the reflectors go. looks like the end bits are joined on after the main part is moulded. i guess it'll need to be bogged up or something, before painting. is this normal ? ? i gotta say i was a little dissapointed with that. i thought it would be a simple job to fit it, but this complicates things a bit.

yes this is normal
they are casting marks
reason being when the female mould is made the inner wheel arches of the mould have to be removeable so you can remove the piece
some body kits come with this already removed but it depends on how much you spend on a kit
(anything made in aus usually has these casting marks)
no bar though would come though ready to put paint on even rb stuff or genuine VS stuff would have to be guide coated and final preped before paint.

that yellow car is from new zealand...the front bar had some minor repairs done to it and is still looking good....(same cant be said for the supercharged car it came off!!!)

I am trying to decide between two front bars from Carmate.
The BX is the blue one , form 2 posts back, but the picture is bad, I think it is the same bar as the yellow-orange one.
If anyone knows for sure let me know.
The other one is shown above, but it has harder sharp lines and looks less like a mx5.
What do you guys think?
