CST coilovers from japan

does anyone have japanese cst coilovers? or know of anyone using them??
any info on them would b great.
i am looking at the cst zero-1 spec coilovers.....

I have been talking to the guy from Race Supplies and he said you already had a set , I was waiting to get feedback from you :roll: :roll:

He has offered some good prices for the teins, but then he tried to talk me out of them and buy these zero 1's.
Anyway I have searched the web for the zero 1's and found nothing. The names that come up are Cusco zero 1's but that is not them.
Glad to hear full Throttle has a set . At least now we might be able to get some feedback.
Race Supplies have told me that these are made and assembled in Japan so they \" could \" be a good thing.
From all the reaserch I've done Quality is best in Japan, as the metal they use is better !! , Tiwan next then China they both use re cycled steel,(not that that is bad) and some comes out hard some soft. There are other very good coilovers out there made anywhere from Australia to Germany but they are in a diferent league as far as price, probably double.
These could end up being the same as the D2 ,G4 K sport etc , It seems the drift guys smash and brake them .
That makes the zero 1'sexpensive.You can get D2's from NZ delivered for $1200.00.I have read lots on the cheapies and they donn't seem as good as something made in Japan.That said you can chose your spring rate,and buy inserts for them over the shelf. Just Jap has a very good rep for service selling G4's for $1400.00.
The main problem I have heard with the cheapies is broken or bent shafts from drift guys using them as a strut. On a mx5 with double wishbones this won't happen.
Sorry for the long post but it seems we might be able to pool our reaserch.

CST shocks are marketed in Japan by www.boyz.co.jp

Don't really know much about them, I haven't seen any comparisons etc in JDM magazines or anything.

I have been looking in the D2 coilover information site. They offer to give you any spring, and any of their standard valve setings, street, track, rally, drift. They show a chart to explain the valving. I have no idea what ( Obliquity ) is so I don't understand the charts.

I just found out the D2 coilovers are manufactured in the United Kingdom and assembled in Tiawan.

Sorry for getting off subject.
Is there any information like this on the CSC site, When I went to, it it was in Japanese and I don't know how to translate it. Aparently it can be done by the computer.

I dunno about D2, but I do have G4 on my Luce and they're actually pretty good. G4 is also in Sydney so if you need bits and pieces they are local.

Thanks for the info on the D2's.
How long have you had them?
After reading everything I can on shocks, I have the opinion that the difference in a better shock is mostly valving for ride quality, the rest is about how long they last.
Supposidly if a shock is valved well, it can be set firm and still give a good ride. When you look at the shock dyno charts a good shock curve for street, has a smooth rounded curve, so there is a bit of softness at first and they get harder as the shock travel and more'so speed goes up. That's why they call the valving progressive.
The D2 shocks offer 4 types of valving, street , track, rally, drift, and two shaft sizes 14mm and 20mm the bigger one for the strut suspension.
On the website D2's talk about ( Obliquity ) in the valving and show it on a chart, all I can guess is this is talking about the Progressivness of the valving, like the curve on the shock dyno.
So what I'm asking is when the D2's are set quite hard do they still have a soft start over the smaller bumps, or as you set them harder do they get sharp ?

I e-mailed the guy that has been said to have the CSC shocks in his car but have not heard back, Has anyone else used these? It looks like info on CSC is hard to get, Maybe they are too new for any feedback, so it would be good to find out the factory that makes them, and what brands are made in the same factory. Race Supplies said he heard internals were Koni or KYB but he was still not sure. I'm not sure how to find out if this is true.

TravyMX5 I sent you a private message and I was wondering if you recieved it, as I am not sure if it went through?

the CST coilover is just a cheaper version of the buddy club N+ coilover.
if I were to buy coilovers again, I'd pay abit more for something else :)
