RE-PAINTING LOWER BLACK SILL ON NA

Hey Guys..

it has come time to respray the black panel under the doors.. can you guys please help me with what product is best to do this from your own experience, i was thinking a black semi gloss acrylic..

your help is appreciated

I reckon it will look better if you paint the sills the same yellow as the car.

Black sills are very passe.

id rather stick with black for the time being.. i will eventually be putting skirts on it.. but for now i just want it black..

i was bout to ask a similar question on this but more along the lines of bennys comment...in regards to colour coding the sills.. anyone have a rough cost on how much it costs to get you sills colour coded with a spray shop?

If your just wanting to redo the black skirt then just go with the Powerplus stuff at Autobarn. Works very well and has a nice finish to it.

This is my job. The black is Powerplus. Red is colour-matched cans from an auto paint shop.

Also decide whether you want to keep the stone guard protection or have a nice smooth finish. If you want stone protection you can pick the stuff up in Autobarn as well. If not, then you will have to do a fair few layers of paint and also clear coat to prevent chipping.

Take your time, prepare it properly and be patient, and you will have a really nice finish.

im repainting my car soon and tossing up black or white sils.

i will be doing the a-pillar black for sure tho...

sill ill just have to photoshop it..

i like the look of the black, but it makes the car look a lot higher than it is...

i reakon colour coded sills would set it off...giving a lower look

thanks all..

im also tossing up paiting the centres of the wheels black...
or a dark grey..

but yeah i photoshoped the sills white and it looked better..
a-pillar black also helped a lot:)

Just had a look at the excelent job you did on your car...Im wondering, do you really need to clear coat it? Since your car is solid red anyway?

Hmmm - can't help but wonder about the legality of the little side air splitters? From a pedestrian safety perspective the RTA might not like them much.........

Its just an added insurance against stone chipping. I guess you could just leave it and do lots of layers of paint but there's no harm done either way.
