GROUP BUY - Number Plate Bracket: Front or Side Mount NA/NB
Hi All,
I was just down at MX5Plus having a sticky beak; as usual.
They now have available new curved laser-cut aluminium number plate brackets. (No more front bar paint damage from protruding mounting screws.) The plate mounts at bottom with the two stainless steel button-head cap screws supplied.
These are very cool and the design is ingenious!
I asked him how much... $27.50 each + postage. Bargain, I thought. Then I thought, being my cheeky self, that other forumites might also be interested. How much for a group buy, I asked... $24 each + postage, he said...
Richard also added that he had some side mount brackets made up - also all alluminium and one-piece. I've never been a fan of these in the past, but I know that many forumites are into the \"JDM\" look. Same price, $24 each + postage on the group buy.
I took one of each home with me, and got some pics of them fitted... I didn't want people with dial up to kill me, so I linked to some instead of posting the pics.

It turns out, that I like the side mount one better... So I'm going to get one of them instead!
OK, if you can pick it up, you are fine, but postage and bubble-wrapping will cost $6 to anywhere in Australia. I will be posting them from here, so you can deposit straight into my bank account for the whole amount. Cash is fine on pick-up.
Put your name down in one of the lists if you are in. And remember, you're supporting an MX5 specific shop, who is a major sponsor of the MX5 Club of QLD.

If so, then if you got a side-mount wouldn't the two holes in the nosecone look ugly?
Alfadog.
The standard bracket is secured in exactly the same place. except this particular bracket looks a lot cleaner & much more tidy. I don't think I'd bother putting a screw through the top of the number plate though. I would be inclined to leave it without the screws. To avoid the holes.
I use the OEM bracket but its been turned upside down but it doesn't look anywhere near as tidy as boagsys bracket.
My way blocks off some airflow I've not had issues at this stage but other cars i've dríven have. So Boasgsy's solution looks very neat & tidy.
