Lowering seats?
Hi everyone, new to this site and a new MX5 owner.
I have just got my hands on a 1994 Na MX5.
Having a lot of fun.
Is it possible to lower the seats?
I am 6' 2\" and I find that I sit a little too high.
If I could sit 1-2 inches lower it would be perfect.
I look forward to your shared wisdom.
Thanks guys
Peter

DONT take the foam out of the seat back. What they fail to tell you is that if you're tall enough to need to remove the foam then the headrest (where you cant remove the foam) sticks out right between your shoulders, which ends up bending your spine every time you drive the bloody car. I really need to pull mine apart again and put the back foam back in it

Heh, that's soooo two seasons ago.
Back on topic - any comments on the comfort of 'modified' seats? I'd like to sit lower, even though I'm not particularly tall (5'11\"). I reckon the mx5 seats are among the most comfortable long haul seats I've sat in, so don't want to ruin that.
Suppose I should just suck it and see.

Oh, yeah the feeling of the seat wrapping around you on the sides is excellent, but the headrest just out an inch or two and is just below my shoulderblades, so I end up slightly hunched when I'm driving. Not good

i took to the factory foam with a big bread knife and couldnt be happier... i think its a case of what suits the driver... if you tall (as in over 6'6\") then just attack the foam in the base to avoid the problem adam is having.
im 181cm tall (from memory) and ive gone nuts on the base and the back rest but retained some lumber support(very worth while) and i love my seat.. feel like im sittin about 1\" lower and the back rest actually feels better with just foam cut out from as high as i could get of the back rest and very little of the lower parts..
