What are the major costs of going turbo?

Just wondering the major costs of going turbo are? My mate (Pete) bought an SE and driving his car has given me the turbo bug again. Two things that I realise are:
1) It's just another one of my phases, and
2) It's not going to happen

BUT hypothetically, what are the major costs?

Obviously, there's the big hardware:
Turbo - $400
Manifold - $350 (with dump pipe)
Dump pipe - $350 (with manifold)
Intercooler - $150
Intercooler piping - ?

You've also got:
Water/Oil lines - ?
BOV - ?
Boost controller - $20 (DIY)
Boost gauge - $50
O2 clamp - ?
Couplers - ?
Clamps - ?
Misc hoses and fittings (return line, vacuum etc) - ?
Heat shielding - ?

Please add any parts and pricing and I will edit this original post.

Here's a couple...
- ECU, installation and tuning.
- Decent radiator
- Oil cooler

Injectors - $200 (cleaned)

Turbo - $400
Manifold and dump pipe - $800
Intercooler - $150
Intercooler piping - 400

You've also got:
Water/Oil lines - $150
BOV - $20 (stock rx7 one sounds cool and works up to 12PSI)
Boost controller - $20 (DIY)
Boost gauge - $50
O2 clamp - Forget this, get an ECU and tuning - $1500
Couplers - all part of your $400 for piping
Clamps - ditto
Misc hoses and fittings (return line, vacuum etc) - $150 (there is a lot of misc stuff)
Heat shielding - I made mine for about $25 I think.
Radiator - $400
Oil cooler - $150

I'd buy an SP, or Mossy's car.

Dont listen to these boofheads call avo and get the non electrics kit for 3200

you have an emanage so unless you want to upgrade things like exhaust that the price

Don't forget the hoops that Fuzzlet is jumping through to pass the emissions tests... Lots of $$$ there - unless you live in QLD. :lol:

And add in between $500-$1500 for an exhaust, depending on what you want...

Plus diff (LSD) $1000
Brakes - at the very least have them checked out - potentially upgrade the rotors
How old is the motor? Done water pump and timing belt change yet?

Seals?

You want to budget up to $10K in total. While the turbo kit might only be $3-3.5K, there's a lot of other stuff that goes with it, and you haven't even addedd in the cost of getting it tuned - which varies on what system you choose........ and how much you can do yourself.

Just spend $10K and buy an SE, it's much easier.

Yep....I've failed 4 emissions tests so I've given up, returning the clubman to stock and selling it

Exactly what I've done - all the goodies from the white car will be put into the SE

Seriously Bevan, the RTA emissions test is so bloody hard to pass. You would be much better off upgrading to an SE, not just because everything is already done for you, but if you get checked for defects, you will be covered by the factory engineering, adding a bit more boost wont involve getting a major retune....that and the fact that u can spend 6k turboing your car, and it'll still only be work 24k....with an SE, it'll cost a little more than turboing your current car, but it'll be worth that much, the insurance on a modified SE is less than a turbo'd older model (the insurance on my SE is less than my clubman with a turbo....SE is 3 years old, clubman is 13....go figure)
