It seems that less and less manufacturers are importing their high performance road tyres in 14 inch size anymore. In Japan the top shelf tyres such as Bridgestone RE01R are available in 185/60/14 however it looks like all that is available locally are the mid spec tyres.
I am very keen on a certain set of 14x7's however before proceeding just wanted to check local tyre availability....... would be keen to here what current high performance road tyres people are using in 14 inch and what they think of them.

I was running a set of 185/60-14 R888's on standard factory 14\" wheels until recently and they were great on the track, loads of grip. I have just moved up to 15\" wheels and changed to Bridgestone SE55's and they have much more grip although this could be due to the increase in size rather than compound of tyre? Either way semi-slicks make a huge difference on the track...
