Help needed

Postby jncook » Fri Jul 20, 2007 11:01 am

I got this email a week or two ago asking for help. Any offers out there?

Wondering if you could help a fellow MX5 lady owner – I booked my MX5 (2000 model) into the mazda dealer to fix the err msg on the sterio – he was going to charge me ~$60 or more depending on the time taken – as I don’t use this dealer very often I don’t know what he is like – also I read on the net that the whole fix it process takes approx 30 sec or so – so I thought I might be getting ripped off – any advise?

If anyone can help send me a pm & I will pass it on to her. She lives in Wodonga at the moment, but is moving to Geelong soon. Sam, that's where you are isn't it?

The only info i can find is for unlocking the NA Mx5 head units. I did a search on Miata.net, and it seems that when it comes to the NB stereos, everyone just takes them to their dealer to get unlocked.

A guy in the UK gave me this procedure. It worked for me up until putting in the code, but the radio wouldn't accept the code. I hope your friend has more luck.

To fix, press :

6
AM
AutoM
Seek up

---- should appear.

Enter 1414 (press 1 twice, 2 five times, 3 twice, 4 five times)

Press and hold AutoM and 6 together. Good should then appear, that's it, job done.

Let me know how she goes!
Cheers,
Bevan :)
