That would be Silva Avenue, off Yass road.

They quoted me around $60 each to strip and coat 16x7 wheels.

Cheers lads,
Just went there then and they should be ready by Monday. The quoted me $100/rim because they are \"silver coated\" and they need to do a couple of extra processes before powdercoating. I negotiated and got them down to $350 for four rims ($87/rim). Also ordered yokohama s-drives to be fitted Tuesday at $190/tyre (205/50R15)

Okay, so far i am so far from happy its not funny. I dropped the rims off close to 3weeks ago now and they said it would only take a few days. called them a few days later and they told me another week...and so on and so on. Called them thismorning and told them to cut the BS and they said they havent even started    and that they will \"definately\" be ready this friday. Definately a 0/10 so far. When the rims are finally done i might think about increasing this rating by 1...maybe. This is one not-so-happy camper.

I think thats the same with powder coaters everywhere. :?

I had a set of 3 piece Rays wheels on my old Sprinter, took the centres to get powder coated at a place near my house. They basically did the same thing, kept saying one more week, one more week, and 3 weeks later i went to the shop to find out wtf was going on, and they were untouched.

I told the guy to give them back to me and ill go elsewhere, but he said that he would do them now, and i can pick them up the next day.

They were waiting for me the next day, but only because i cracked the shits.

The worst thing was that my car was off the road for ages, as the wheels had no centres.. :x

I was VERY happy with my powdercoater (Dean @ Brookvale Powdercoating)
My wheels are done on time and to the quoted price
He sandblasted and powdercoat the wheels INSIDE OUT before applying the same clear coat BMW/Merc/AUDI use on their wheels (makes it easier to clean)
His work is flawless and the finish on the wheels need to be seen to be believed

I can't recommend you a better man for the job if you need your wheels powdercoated
Both Dean and his wife restores antique/designer furniture and beds, so the quality of work is immaculate
I ♥ asymmetry

I wish i had more choice of places to go but in ACT there really isnt any choice otherwise i wouldve taken them elsewhere ages ago. Its just really frustrating. Im the type of guy who can not stand being jerked around. On top of it, i have to constantly rebook the tyre fitting at JAX. I called them thismorning and made a \"blank appointment\" (Just take the car in when the rims are done) to avoid me unintentionally stuffing them around. AAAH is it beer'o'clock yet?!?

The problem with most powder coaters is that they really only make money on the production jobs where factories etc. send them hundreds or even thousands of items to coat, and being brand new items, they don't require so much work to get done.
A one-off set of wheels is a pain in the rear for them as there is a lot of handwork involved in doing them, so they tend to get left to last on the job schedule or they try and squeeze them in inbetween larger jobs.
White is probably the worst colour to get them to do as they have to clean all the equipment really well before spraying the white otherwise you wouldn't be happy with getting black specks in the white finish.

I'm not a powdercoater, nor do I have any association with any, but I have used them for production items and I'm familiar with how they work.

It's a bit like my Benny's Boots.
The factory can only start making them when there are a few orders and these things tend to get pushed back all the time because if the factory has orders for thousands of items, they aren't too keen on doing 2 or 3 sets of boots and ruining the production schedule.
