Commiserations UA
If you need a trailer to pick up the replacement engine you can borrow mine.

GAGF!!!!!
And Wayne says so too.

You'd better beware - I know how to pull your car apart ........

And you won't know how to fix it - and the forum has seen what a callous ratbag you are and they won't help...............
The only thing I'm smiling about in response is I still have more base power than you.

(It's ok - I do know you're having a good natured giggle

Thanks AJ.
I'll be following up with Richard to see what he's got available and what will fit - I reckon I'll come out of this with a bill less than $800 incuding beer and wingz.
And a newer motor, and the chance to do more polishing.

At least it's a good opportunity to get a younger engine in there
sorry to read the story, but we can all learn from your mistake, I know it doesn't make you feel much better though
I guess this means a lot less of us are going to be trying this method. From the little I've read from others, if you have to use water use it with a spray bottle so it's a light mist that goes in & not big drops. Same goes for Mazda's own cleaner in my opinion.
Better yet use a proper engine decarboning spraycan like Subaru's Upper Engine Cleaner. Does a great job, I did it last oil change on mine, my engine is still dirty inside (was extremely gunked up when I bought it) but it's getting much better with time. Next oil change though I'll be using two cans of the stuff.
