Touch up paint

Postby Penguin » Sun Jul 08, 2007 8:23 pm

Hi all

I have bought some genuine touch up paint for my NC, those dreaded stone chips. Does anybody know what is best to use as a thnner/bursh cleaner?

I'd be guessing but I suppose any acrylic thinner should do. What colour and where did you get the paint - Mazda?

The car is \"radiant ebony\" in colour. The family calls it aubergane. I thought it was acrylic. I am trying to upload the avatar and signature to show you the colour but I cannot do it with \"safari\". I am going to try with Internet Explorer tonight.

That's OK Penguin, I know what radiant ebony is like - another metallic fleck paint. I don't know if it is acrylic but it probably is. Did you get the paint from Mazda? What did it cost? I'm going to need some factory paint for touch ups on our stormy blue.

I may not know about car paints... but from what I've learnt from my model cars... Acetone does a very good job of cleaning small brushes with sticky paint on them...? But for it to work properly it cant be diluted

hopefully this doesnt count as a stupid answer...
