We used to do Coffs every Easter when Natmeet wasn't on...bet we could drag a few old runs out of the archives!

*sigh* The safety Nazis have recently attacked the Wisemans Ferry road too. The bit on the other side of the river. In the olden days it used to be 100kmh, then down to 80kmh now it's 60kmh for a lot of the way. :cry:

Did this drive (not starting from Hornsby Heights) over the weekend. It is a nice drive. Wasn't too much traffic for the most part of the trip.

I've been going up to the ferry heaps of times lately. The other day I went back down River road, and that is one crazy road. As the name suggests it follows the river going past alot of caravan parks, the views are spectacular. I went when it was a bit wet, but it didnt matter because its still suicide in the dry, the road is so narrow at some points there is only room for one car, and most of the time the corners are blind. It is quite long though, I was lucky there was nobody on it. I also bottomed out almost 20 times.
I don't really think it would be a good group run but it sure is a nice place and road.

I started at the ferry end, its basically a turn off just before the road that goes past the pubs, as you're going down the hill.

Go at a very quiet time unless you want to crash into someone. So off holiday season perhaps.

The other end ends up back on cattai mountain road so you can go back down the mountain and back to old windsor rd.

I personally HATE Wisemans with a passion.
The road is OK up to the ferry. Then there is no lane markings and it is foggy.
I was there a few nights ago with the bf driving. Lack of lane markings made me feel completely sick since there is no point of reference [kinda like when you get sea sick].
Since the road and walls blend together my mate ended up crashing into someone's front yard thinking it was road. And since it was so far away from civilization, it took forever to get the car home. [one hour each way back to sydney]
