Other way around. When the air is being flowed through from the outside, it is louder. When it is circulating within the cabin, it is quieter.

Where does that carbon bit go to in the firewall?

A hole that needs to be cut in the firewall. That is a high pressure area at speed so in theory as well as cooler air from outside the engine bay you will also be getting a bit of forced induction.

it catches air at the high pressure point of the windshield and sucks cool air down the carboin firbe tube into the pod.. at first i was sceptical saying \"its facing the wrong way\" after getting it installed.. now i understand... proof is the sound from inside the car :D
