If you're after some cheap buckets like me you can consider Justjap seats
I know some guys on here have got them in their 5's...they're ADR approved as well so despite being cheap knockoffs, they're safe knockoffs

I'm eyeing off the Bride copies as I'm too poor for the real thing haha

In some MX-5 markets mazda installed a higher end sound system. It was called the Mazda Sensory Sound System. Built into the seats were something akin to woofers, which could be controlled from the headunit. I always poo pooed the concept until I drove one of John Hewitt's Miatas in Washington state last year. This particular car had this system installed and I was surprised for the clarity and depth of sound from a factory system.

yeah i have the headrest speakers.. ive upgraded mine to 4\" as most poeple do.. i just found it facinating that my cousins import had these speakers in the base of the seat.. i noticed on the original head unit he has on ebay that there is an actual control for the seat speakers
you can see in the pic.. either choose headrest or base of seat sound

The things that go in the seat base aren't regular looking speakers. They are about 110mm in diameter and about 20mm deep. All they do is vibrate the seat with the bass and trick your body into thinking there is more bass. Unlike a subwoofer they dont actually make any noise. Jaycar used to sell them and they were called bass shakers or something. I'm not sure if they are still around, it's very old technology that didn't really catch on.
