The mechanic who is doing the work reckons this is the 2nd one he as seen in the last 6 months.
He races mx5's and as a good reputation as being the best man for the job in south east qld.

News is gearbox is out, problem identified and being fixed. Expect her back some time next week.
Lightened flywheel and heavy duty clutch being installed as well as loch stewart cold air intake, heat shielded and loch stewart cat back exhaust system fitted.
God I miss the old girl:)
