Tested my car

Postby ES86 » Wed Jun 13, 2007 1:03 am

Just tested my car at winton again after putting some cams in the engine(5kw gains after 5500rpm until 7200rpm) to test my car to prepare for the first round of mx-5 championship...

It's not too much different in straight especially like a track in winton, i could only see around 3-5km/h gains at straight and the top speed is around 143-5km/h.... (probaly because of running 195 instead of 185 last time) but the traction during corners does improve a bit and manage to beat my best time....Will go to check my wheel alignment soon...

Here is a time sheet of the day.

Think I counted maybe one car on the right line coming out of turn 2...

Yes, there was a bit of that. Nonetheless, everyone was still having a go, and there was quite a few first timers out there.

Highlight of the day was seeing the 350Z with the aston martinesque DAMD bodykit. This car looked the business! Lightweight wheels, semi slicks, enormous brakes, and it was a Turbo! Its at this point the car was sounded like a great track car... but...it was an auto.

I gave up on counting how many times the car spun off the track after the first half dozen off's. Three of which were on the same corner.

So what is the right line out of turn 2? I'm curious cos I don't think I'm doing it right as well :P

Are you meant to clip the top apex and then go wide? I noticed in a lot of the pics the cars aren't clipping close to the ripple at all and coming out in the middle.

Any decent cars there (other than that excellent Elfin)?

Right. You don't see many of them with the bottom row of fixed lights. Doesn't look too shabby though.
