IRTB's

Postby slammer » Sun May 20, 2007 5:36 pm

Picked up Nick and girlracers old IRTB's of their 1600 race car today :D

Also picked up a hand controller for the Microtech MT4? ECU.

Question does anyone have access to the manual for it? Sean?

Anyway sure Jason at Top Tune will be able to sort it 8)

Here's a pic...keep you all posted on install and any power gains on the current 82Kw :D

I have the basic manual for the microtech, and can probably help get it working if need be, have a proper portable wideband AFR metre too 8)

I'll try and find the manual and copy or scan it for you.

Repost here or PM me in a few days to remind me, I am flat out at the moment and will probably forget...

Cheers
Sean

If anyone really wants a set of TBs, I've got some spare GSX-R TBs here. I could build up a manifold if someone has a spare standard manifold I could use for a template.

Something like this:

Except, my aluminium welding looks a lot better 8)

Hit a bit of a snag

Jason at TT Automotive (Used to be Top Tune.....but that's another story) found a problem in his inspection during the install process. Nothing to do with the IRTBS, it was in the valve cover area.

Trying to sort it out, (the mfr has agreed to fix parts gratis, and I promised not to tell)

So all should happen about 2 days in hand of the Mexican Meet :? Hopefully :x

I'm looking forward to seeing the result.

There's an ex MX-5 Racing NA8 over here making GREAT power on quads.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

A few questions regarding IRTBs/ ITBs since I am getting more and more interested with them:

1. What sort of power/torque gains do the IRTBs offer from a stock engine's point of view?
2. And what sort of advantages does it have over forced induction?
3. Engine wear and tear?
4. Are they road legal at all?
I ♥ asymmetry
