Konis on Pedders springs?

Hi all

Just seeing if anyone's try Konis with Pedders springs?...how much should you expect to pay for this setup used?

From what I've heard, Pedders are low but soft?...possibly Monroe rebadged?

Don't go pedders please don't. I am pretty sure monroe do not make springs, they are probably just something else rebadged though.

The ones I had which I am pretty sure they were pedders(red) were aweful.

Has anyone else had any experience with them?

ok so no Pedders.
I know alot of members runs Kings, also heard of rumours of them sagging?...Also what's setting on the Konis?...this is gonna start a new can of worms so I might just go and look. :D

koni's should be very good but also quite expensive compared to kyb which are also pretty good. I am happy with my kyb/kings but the kings are quite low, I havnt measured them but I don't think they have sagged much or are considerably lower compared to std.

I have pedders with koni's and they are fine.
On the track my car is very similar to other people with different set ups.
Pedders is a good aussie company, I reckon.

Kings are also aussie, at the gold coast the last I heard. From looking at the two (right here in front of me) I dare say that they are the same apart from the colour. Even the spring rate feels the same, I wouldn't think pedders would make their own...most likely outsourced elsewhere, could even be the same plant the Kings are coming from.

Hey Tim, when you had Pedders on your rear, what was the rest of your setup?

From my last job working only with suspension i might be able to clear a few things up!!

Monroe is sh*t no matter what product it is, anything monroe (burn it)

King springs have a lifetime warranty against a free height sagging of 10mm or more. (kings are fantastic springs and are aussie made in QLD) kings are made as a hot wound process not cold wound so less stress fractures, hence no sagging

Pedders do make their own springs (from memory) and are known too sag more than a king spring

Koni is also a fantastic way to go in terms of shocks (they also do coilover kits for the na/nb model's !!!! little known fact) oh and just springs too

As for spring rates???? most after market springs are about 30% firmer than a factory spring. (kings usually being firm but not too hard)

Hope that clears up some things for u!! ( not that i was asked or anything anyways!!!!!! haha haha

In case your wondering i run a KYB/KINGS combo with every bush in super pro poly (offset) about to be added along with signiture adj front and rear bars, with TEIN strut brace front.

Eibach springs and Koni shocks is a very nice combo. 8)

They were on my car when i got it, just with std shocks. They were a linear rate and had heaps of coils compared to my king which are progressive and far fewer coils, making the kings much firmer and the red ones way too soft. By the time I took them out my exhaust was absolutely stuffed.

PS: I sold many many monroe shocks and in my experience they are a very good shock, many of them are also made in Aus.
