More often than not a head gasket issue will also make the car overheat. So try feeling around the footwells for dampness, it could just as easily be a leaking heater core.

Take the car to a cooling system specialist (radiator repair shop or your regular mechanic) and have them pressure test the system - this will pinpoint the cause quickly and easily. Most often the culprit is the radiator cap, but sometimes it is hard to spot, hence my suggestion.

most good mechanicis will have a unit they can put in your radaitor. It tells them if there is any trace of oil or fumes, which indicates a blown head gasket.

its an easy way to figure out if its the head gasket...

it you start the car with the radiator cap off and their are bubbles coming up means their is a problem with the head

if not then its not the head and i would say u've got a leak somewhere
look at the water pump & thermostat.

secondly, drive ur car around and when u stop put cardboard underneath and u'll see if its leaking or not =)
