Chris And Joni

have to take my beanie off to you both.
Fantastic day, great company and on their second run they achieve a new club record for attendence. Fantastic effort.
The day had a bit of everything, even the cops got a nice little earner!
(not from us this time)
Great to see more of the newer members and forumites, i wanted to come chat and meet some of you but having just got our new baby i wanted to show him off a bit.
We had a great trip back from Apollo bay with Sam. Fatty and Fastfreddy! Sam, was that really a plain copper you overtook?

had a great time. so many people there !

it was good to catch up with some old faces and also to chat to some folks i hadn't met before. i think i enjoyed the social aspect as much as the driving. it would have been nice to say hi to a few more people but i guess the driving got in the way of to much socialising  .

thanks to joni and chris. oh and a special mention of congrats to fred and roady on their new beast! BLACK SP, does it get any better than that!?!?!?!

Congrats Joni & Chris on such a well organised event. The massive turnout speaks volumes for your preparation.

Took a whole heap of photo's whilst riding in various cars (Thanks to Ben, Rodders & Monique) and will post them online within the next 48 hours.

Couldn't make, went out to my car at 5am to discover a flat tyre. The valve was shot & you can't get tyre repairs at 5am Sunday mornings. Not happy Jan
Good to hear it was a great turn out & a great day

That was an impressively ballsy maneuver.
I wasn't going to get close as my new exhaust system is just a tad loud.

Great run, good company and kudos to Joni and Chris!

After leaving Apollo Bay we were going through the twisties and Fastfreddy just got past the traffic in front of me and took off around a corner out of site when I started hearing this noise. It sounded like a jet or something, then I realised it was Fastfreddy at full song. I wasn't even close to him at the time  Then there was the sound of him downshifting behind us with the sound echoeing off the cliff faces. Absolutely nuts

Apollo Bay Run

Postby rob53 » Sun May 27, 2007 9:56 pm

This was my first run with hubby Rob and what an impressive one to pick for my initiation. Did not expect to see many MX5,s. Thank you to Chris and Joni for the organisation of the day. I am sure this will not be my last run. :D

That was an impressively ballsy maneuver.[quote]

Yeah I passed him doing about 110 according to the Navman. I didn't realize until I got next to him and saw his uniform and data panel. Doh. It was too late by then so I pulled in front and and sat on 105. He obviously wasn't interested in us. Some others were not so lucky today. Conditions were good for a safe speed crepe of a few k's.

Really enjoyed the run frome Skenes Creek to Forest. Lots of challenging conditions in the twisties.

Great run Joni and Chris. Congrats on your record and a very well turned out day.

Thanks to all of you for a great day -- cause without ya we would be sitting in KFC carpark at 5 am with a clipboard and instant coffee.....

I am VERY glad you enjoyed the run today and we ( as in Chris and I) hope to make it a bit of an annual event if we can, improving it as we go!

Any thoughts would be most welcome....

See you at the next one, thanks again to all that showed up and others that didn't .. suffer in your undies!!!

Great day, great weather, and not a lot of traffic. Perfect :)

I've never seen so many MX5's gathered in one place. 61 to be exact (thanks Rod for counting at the KFC carpark). Nice to meet a few familiar faces too (some I forgot their names, but remember their usernames  ).

I think I was one of the only three cars with a hardtop (not including the one roadster coupe I saw). My excuse was too cold and busted rear window....and too windy! :P. I think I'll need to fix that up before next summer and set back into some topless action.
