Watched Lou the Master in action doing a wheel allingnment after one of the Mania cars had crashed one day. so I thought I'd give it a try...... with a bit of guess work with the camber at least the track would be striaght.

ROFLMHO.......Fark. I got one side straight . The other side must be at least 4mm out. after 2 hrs of measuring & mucking around I'd only touched the front wheels. Its time to make time to get the car to some pros.

Camber was drastically reduced also the car was running about 10mm toe in at the front. :shock: I have no I dear what the camber was but it must have been somewhwre close to -4 deg.

anyway......I'm really hanging for a good drive......can't wait for the allinmnet to be sorted.

I figure that since my alignment guy hates doing my car because its all dont with those offset bushes, then theres no way I'd ever want to try it myself. He gets good results, but watching him do it he just goes back and forth, back and forth because every time you touch one thing it pulls something else to where you don't want it

ive got my car booked in for the post offset bush install wheel alignment tomorrow.

ive just set everything out to max camber... the toe in looks a little drastic on the front but the rear looks ok... the wheel alignment shops only 1k away so im hoping it will be fine for that distance :|

only thing to do now is to decide what alignment specs to go for :?

My alignment guy had the same problem as Adam's. The off-set bushes squirm all over the place when you release the locknuts so he can't use the normal cam adjusters effectively. It all becomes just hit and miss.

I'd be interested to hear how you go with them.

I actually had to replave one of the camber adjustment bolts because those washed were just going round & round. Luckyily I had some spare NB8B ones. :mrgeen:

I had another go in the afternoon & got it all fairly even. Rear toe I managed to get a total of 2mm. On the front I got a total 5mm Toe out. It feels good.

Of course I have no idear what the camber & castor turned out like but it appars that one side has more on the rear than the other.
i also managed to get the steering wheel straight.

After I had given up in the morning & took it for a test run the steering wheel must have had at least a 30deg turn in the straight. also the rears still had massive camber on it & when i took a steep round about & seemed to induce extra body roll. it was kind of scary. I drove home gently.....it seemed a little dangerous.

well... i told the guy on the phone what ive done so hopefully he knows what to expect :?

AND hopefully i can get there with little hassel... like i said its only around the corner.. but you guys are worrying me :lol: :P

i had my settings to max camber. it was handling quite welll once I got used to it. yes the steering was a little strange past a certain point of turn. It only became scary after i started mucking around with the front wheels . There would have been a huge difference between the front & rear camber settings.
Its quite good now. the steering wheel is back to being straight after i got it all sorted in the afternoon.


Just drive your car to whereever you have to. Just don't go 100% around every corner. you will be fine.
