Does any one know if oil based model paint will last for the lettering or will i need something more heavy duty due to the heat?

You can buy heat resistant paint. Buy it in a spray can. Spray it into the lid and paint on with a brush.

Only saying spray can because I think you'll find more uses for it (brakes etc.) :)

Yup, that worked for me too.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

it was alot of hard work.. i did the whole thing using a drill bit polishing kit (i dont have a bench grinder)..

i would just like to have a big shout out and thankyou to

i never would have thought to do this myself but im glad i did

Tell you what. I have a dremel copy (cheap substitute), a really good German bench grinder with wire buff, and a power drill buffing attachment.

I can offer beer, wingzzzz in our new deep fryer, movies, dinner courtesy of mummy and a bed.

Actually why don't we just do a GCDDII - bling polish fest! I'm sure we could convince Wayne to get involved with underbonnet shiny work!. Hell we could even get Sabretooth to arrive a couple of days early this time.
