Mine is already hot  :P
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

OK, I am also interested in new covers for my NB8A, I'd love to see the pictures when you are finished. Being an Aquarian means that I want mine to be very bright .... a stunning yellow centre and black sides with the Logo of course - should look great on my all black MX-5.

- edit Okibi - no need to use bold for everything -

Been a busy week, sorry for the late update,
Here we go

it's been 2 weeks so got the pics

bit more I am afraid, got hit by Easter, shouldn’t be too far away now.

Andrew wrote:I too need some NB8A seat covers. I found a hole in the the drivers side one last week......havnt dríven it since :(

I'd be after a fairly exact copy of the original seat cover ie: cloth seat and leather/vinyl (what ever its is on the back of the seats) perhaps with red stiching and no logo 8)

Hi Andrew,
I dont do cloth covers I am afraid. The material is high quality leatherette, that is more durable then anything else, and looks/feels exactly like leather.

marcusus wrote:mmm... I wanna try this leatherette stuff first before I buy it. I was thinking of getting something similar to 10AE seats, with suede like stuff in the middle. I'm rather curious to see how leatherette performs after being left in the sun in terms of how hot your butt gets.

I had fair few chances to drive my MX5 NA with seat covers in very hot summer days, roof constantly open.
Obviously it gets warmer than cloth, however, not as bad as leather.
I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all to initially sit in the car. The steering wheel was always the real heated part. Maybe I should start producing some steering wheel covers.
Further to this, I have sold many sets of covers to QLD/NT area. The feedback from the buyers were significantly positive.

Yeah, fair enough. Hopefully someone around Sydney gets them soon and I can get a good look and feel of them. See if I reckon they're a goer for me.

Once you have the covers upholstering your own seats isn't to hard. I will probably buy some leather ones from the USA when I finally sell my XR6 Turbo to finance my 2002ish MX5 purchase.

Below are the seats I redid for my other toy, a t-topped 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT. The covers are a custom style I had made by Mr Mikes in the USA.

First one took me about 4 hours as I am fussy. Once I worked out the procedure and tricks to wrinkle free the second one took about 45 minutes.

So if you do leather and leatherette, do you do MX5 seats in leather rather than leatherette as well?

All,
I have finally cought up with Insurgence and installed nb seat covers,
We all impressed with the quality and tight fit.
Insurgence to provide further buyer feedback

Below are some pics taken at night time, hence the funny lighting,
During the week will take some pics under sun light and post them immediately
There are some creases at the moment, which are normal, as seat covers were in air sealed bag for a while. The creases will disapear in around a week time with average usage.

Can you do the fake suede too?

Oh and have they been made to fit a NB8B seat yet?
